❤ eggs are life ❤
hi 👋 some of you might know that i'm (almost) a dietitian (november cannot come fast enough 🙏) and i'm specialising in oncology nutrition.
this account has always been quite relaxed..about me, my life, my travels, my training (boxing 👊), food.. it started for accountability and fun as i started my personal trip into the #iifym world and i didn't give it a real direction.
i still don't want to, because everything that has to do with rules, commitment, obligations and so on ..well it's not for me. i lose energy, interest, motivation and mental peace when i feel obliged to do something.
still, i think i'm ready to share some "real" content.. like..once a week? once every two weeks? still don't know yet.. i'm open to suggestions ❤✨
and #humpday is a good day to start something new, right? 🌟
so. let's start with eggs 🍳🐣!
one large egg #macros are ~ 70 kcal | 0 c | 6 p | 5 f | 0 fiber | 75% water
egg protein is a great source of protein and it sets the standard to which other protein sources are compared.
eggs are sources of: vitamin a, b2, b3, b5, b6, folate, b12, d, k, calcium, tryptophan, choline, sulfur, selenium, phosphorus, zinc, lutein, zeaxanthin, nonheme iron. they belong to the cariostatic foods, which means that they not contribute to decay, are not metabolized by microorganisms and do not cause a drop in salivary ph to 5.5 or less within 30 mins. ❕they can decrease iron absorption and iron in egg yolk is poorly absorbed because of phosvitin. they can cause allergic reactions. patients with severe uc, crohn's disease, colon cancer, intestinal trauma who had to have an ileostomy or colostomy performed should keep in mind that eggs tend to create odor and flatulence.❕
what about cholesterol? read last @physiqonomics post to learn more! 😉😊
ah! and they are delicious 😌😛
i really want to know your opinion, if you want to let me know if i should do some informative post like this every now and then or if you have suggestions, i'm all ears 😺
most of the infos come from "krause's food & the nutrition care process" 13th ed.
